This is a Cherry bookcase with a bit of Asian influence. The entire bookcase is constructed from solid Cherry, no plywood or veneer. This was the first piece I built here at my current studio location after leaving: http://timberwerksstudio.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-old-shop.html in the photos you can see the machinery from the old shop stored in the garage.

The work on this bookcase was primarily done with hand tools since I did not have adequate power in the garage for the machines. A band saw was used to re saw the Cherry for the panels. Joinery is mortise and tenon, finish is Tried & True varnish oil. This is the first table I used butterfly shaped inserts for stabilizing the cracks rather than the familiar bow ties. These photos were taken in the shop as well as in clients home.

Timberwerks Studio - Dale J. This entertainment center breaks down into six units for easy moving. Features include pocket doors, dovetailed drawers, fluted face frame on center unit, also tongue and groove Cherry for the backs of the side units. The finish for this entertainment center is a special mix stain followed by a water based lacquer top coat. Overall height is 6'-6" width 12'-0", depth of center unit is 28" if I recall correctly. This was the last piece built in my old Grafton studio. I only have the one photo.

Timberwerks Studio - Dale J.
